Deep Green Cabinets

“The main thing the client knew she wanted was the deep green color, which she had seen during her European travels. It’s a very vibrant color, so the accent colors needed to balance the space. Small amounts of red were used to complement the green, and lighter and warmer tones were chosen for the countertops, window trim and flooring. The Sub-Zero is paneled to blend with the cabinetry, and the other appliances are stainless steel.

“We used limestone for the countertops (which is obviously not the right product for everybody as you have to keep it sealed) to give the kitchen an Old World, softer look. It is a very mellow complement, so that the green stays the main focus. To pick up that tone, we used faux pine trim around the windows and cyprus for the floor. The result is a lively and friendly space to gather in.”
